Local businesses invited to advertise in coupon book

 

Coupon Book promotes independent businesses

Buffalo First, a nonprofit organization "dedicated to promoting Buffalo's local, fair, and green economy," is preparing to publish their second all-local coupon book.

The coupon book is designed to support Buffalo's independent businesses and to educate people about the importance of shopping locally.

Last year, nearly 3,000 copies of Buffalo's first-ever all-local coupon book were purchased from independent retailers throughout our city.

"Shop in Your Neighborhood" Expo is Saturday, September 12th

Expo is this Saturday

Over sixty local vendors will participate in the 8th annual Expo this weekend, which will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Cazenovia Park in South Buffalo on Saturday, September 12th.

The event is held in partnership with Goin' South's Irish Feis, a day-long festival of live Irish music and dance, starting at noon and ending at dusk with fireworks. 

Food vendors this year include the Blackthorn Restaurant, Potter's Field, Imperial Pizza, Kate & Tish's Catering, the Caz Coffee Cafe, and Abbott Pizza.

Entrepreneurs invited to sign up for classes

     Planning on starting a business?  The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) has announced its fall classes will begin Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Greater South Buffalo Chamber of Commerce office, 2189 Seneca Street.

Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) fall schedule set

The fall class of the Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) is set to begin on Tuesday, September 15, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.  at the chamber office, 2189 Seneca Street in South Buffalo.

The EAP program is a 60-hour class designed for entrepreneurs with instruction on how to start a business--- from creating successful business plans to marketing, advertising, record keeping, and other key issues necessary to ensure your business is a success.
