Small business training program begins November 12

The newly established Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) in South Buffalo will feature a 60-hour small business training course starting Wednesday, October 22, 2008.
Classes will be held twice a week, Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Diners may enjoy baked chicken, ribs, greens, red beans and rice, turkey burgers, catfish, meatloaf, and a lot of other options.

Businesses, organizations, schools, and nonprofits and invited to share information about their product or service to thousands of visitors at the annual Irish Feis & Expo.

South Park Italian Festival is Sunday, August 17th

The festival will be held on Reading Street, just off of South Park Avenue in South Buffalo (a few blocks away from Sorrento).
Food from Chef's, Ditondo's, The Wayside, Mineo's South, and Pellicano's Market will be served. Italian beer, wine, and other refreshments will be available. The Caz Coffee Cafe will also be on site.
Seneca Street Car Show!

Dog Ears Bookstore now open
» Submitted by Ann Enger on Wed, 07/16/2008 - 5:23pm.Dog Ears Bookstore is now open at 688 Abbott Road, in the same building with the Caz Coffee Cafe.
The two-story site offers new books for sale downstairs, along with a comfortable sitting area. Upstairs is a sprawling room offering an array of programming, from poetry classes to storytime. Both entities represent "The Enlightenment Literary Arts Center."
"It's designed to be "funky, fun, safe, and enthusiastic," said Thomas McDonnell, director of the center.

The 7th annual Shop in Your Neighborhood Expo is planned for Saturday, September 6, 2008 in Cazenovia Park. The event is held in conjunction with Goin' South's Irish Feis, a daylong celebration of Irish music and culture.
Expo vendors have the opportunity to promote their product or service to thousands of visitors and residents.
Expo chairpersons are Shellie Picone, M&T Bank, Brandon Minsterman, HSBC Bank, and Karen Rondinelli, Elderwood Village at Westwood.
Parade of Circles a success!
» Submitted by Ann Enger on Mon, 06/02/2008 - 11:17am.The 7th annual Parade of Circles was held on Sunday, June 1, under crisp skies and with fall-like temperatures. Just the same, over 30 contingents marched down McKinley Parkway and hundreds of residents and visitors enjoyed the show from the sidelines.
This year's honored guests were Buffalo Fire Fighters. The parade grand marshal was Linda Friedenber from the Board of Block Clubs.
The annual parade celebrates the historic Olmsted Parkway and is planned by South Buffalo Alive and the Greater South Buffalo Chamber of Commerce.
