Expo planned for September 11th, reserve booths now
» Submitted by Ann Enger on Wed, 08/18/2010 - 1:15pm.The 9th annual 'Shop in Your Neighborhood' EXPO is planned for Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Cazenovia Park from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Businesses, nonprofits, organizations, schools and entrepreneurs are invited to get a booth at the EXPO to share information about their products and services with hundreds of visitors.
To reserve a booth, call 824-9942 or e-mail southbuffalochamber@gmail.com.
The EXPO is a unique, outdoor event held in conjunction with Goin' South's IRISH FEIS, a day-long festival of live Irish music and dance.
South Buffalo Italian Festival planned for Sunday, August 15th

South Buffalo Italian Festival August 15th
The sixth annual South Buffalo Italian Festival, planned for Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., will be held on the lawn by South Park Lake, near the Botanical Gardens. Everyone is invited and admission is free.
The festival will feature food by area restaurants, including Francesca’s, Mineo’s, the Wayside, DiTondo’s, Caz Coffee Café, and Ilio DiPaolo’s. Other refreshments will also be available, including Italian beer and wine.
General Family Dentistry opens on Seneca Street

Dr. Gary Schoene and Dr. Zimdahl will be offering a complete range of family dentistry.
The office will be open six days a week, Monday through Saturday. The dental office is at the same site where a previous dental office was, which relocated, and it has been completed renovated.
General Family Dentistry is accepting new patients and is committed to providing quality care and excellent service to all patients.
Most insurances are accepted, including Medicaid.
Trina's Family Restaurant opens in Clinton-Bailey neighborhoood

Trina's is opened for early breakfasts, lunch, and dinner, serving everything from steak and eggs, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy to hot and cold subs, souvlaki salads, chicken finger salads, corned beef hash, and many sandwich specialties.
Hours are Mondays and Tuesdays, 5 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Wednesdays - Saturdays, 5 a.m.- 8 p.m.; Saturday 5 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Clinton Street Revitalization Committee busy in Kaisertown
» Submitted by Ann Enger on Mon, 05/03/2010 - 2:53pm.The Clinton Street Revitalization Committee has been meeting, brainstorming, and implementing ideas to revitalize the historic business district in Kaisertown.
Streetscape improvements, including new trees and planters, banners, street lighting, clean streets, and other plans are part of the goals of the committee with the hopes of attracting and retaining businesses within the district.

Clean Up South Buffalo, New Group makes it their Mission

After noticing an abundance of trash and litter in our neighborhood, lifelong South Buffalo resident Jim Hayes and many of his friends began discussing ways they can volunteer to clean up South Buffalo.

Blue Eye Creative provides business-to-business advertising specialties as well as creative design. The company also offers a venue for local artists, with a unique retail shop featuring jewelry, art, books, and greeting cards.

Dog Ears Bookstore 2nd annual gala planned for April 24th

The event will be an 80's theme party with The Legendary Dukes and will also feature "Taste of the Southtowns" showcasing 25 local restaurants. Admission is $50 and includes beer, wine, music, and the "Taste."
